Hosting review! How to choose your hosting provider? or what do you expect from your hosting provider?
Most big hosting service now provide a big space and big bandwidth that, can go to what they name it unlimited! Also Price are less than $7 to $9. there is no more $39 and $99 setup fee like it was a few years ago. Also most are uptime 99.99% . most they give a free domain name. So, what do you want else?
You still need a lot of think to watch on your hosting provider. The main thing is customer service, Support, ticket. Phone support.
As I say a few years ago the big problem was to keep watching your disk space and bandwidth so you will not get over charged. In the last 3 years I had never get this problem. The big issue you need to considere is the customer service. does your provider provide phone support so you can talk to a person not a machine if you need help. Also if you ask for support how long it take they get back to you.
Before you host your site be carefull about this point. Do you know how hard if your site get offline due to some technique problem and you don’t get anybody to talk to.. Especialy if you have enough visitors waiting in your site.
I have 10 years experience online I try almost most of them. Also I still have a site with almost all of the big hosting providers. the best advice I can give you if you don’t want your site to be offline most the time stay away from resellers. that doesn’t means resellers are bad or not serious. NO. I use to be. Most resellers are a one person or two so they can not provide support to all there customers in the same time. Also he need to ask support from his provider before he give you support. and if he is a reseller from an other reseller you will wait a long time. That’s way I stop doing it. I ask my customer to choose his hosting and I take care for his work, than I’m not responsible for hosting.
