wordpress install tutor with pictures

As we get more questions about how to install wordpress. We will explan in this article all steps to install wordpress with pictures illistration.

We suppose you know how to upload wordpress files into your server. If not refer to an other article talking about FTP. 

After you download the wordpress files from wordpress.org you unzip it into a directory in your hard drive. Than you upload all files into your server. You can put files either in the root server or in a directory of your root server.

To install it just type in your browser the address where you put your files.

if it’s in your root directory you go to : yourdomainname.com

if it s in a directory inside your root you go to: yourdomainname.com/thedirectory

change youdomainname.com with your site domain name and/or the the directory with the name of directory where you upload your files.

than you will get a page look like the picture bellow:

Now you click : create a configuration file. After you click you will get into a browser look like the picture bellow:

Follow the arrow and click : Let’s GO

Almost done! you put the appropriate info in each bar. Your database name, username of database , password and than the database Host (most time is localhost) but check with your host provider. table prefixe you can keep it as it is or put some thing of your choice.

Than click Submit. to get the next screen :

If your server is writable the install file will create a file named wp-config.php automaticly. But if it’s not writable like our case we need to create this file manully. just copy the text in the text bar and past it into a file name it wp-config.php and upload it either into the root or the directory where your wordpress files are.

and click run the Install. almost done! just some few steps.

Now give a name to your wordpress blog and  an email for your admin. both name and email can be changed later from your admin area.

Now click Install . let ’s go to the next scree.

Your wordpress now is installed.

by default your admin username is admin and you get a password randomly. please remember this password. click login to go to your admin area. by default the password is a hard to remember . first thing to do when you login try to change it to something familiar for you.

Just click login , put our username and password

and it’s done

your first login will look like bellow.

it will ask you to change the password. itry to do it first. click on “Yes take me to my profile”

and you can change the password as shown in the next picture

Put your new password and save
